Past Shows - Aladdin
Once
upon a time, in the far-off kingdom of Pommentia, lived a young maiden called
Cinderella. The poor girl's mother had died, and her father, Baron Hard
Up, has married again. His new wife is cruel and mean with two extremely
ugly daughters of her own - Gertrude and Griselda - who spend most of their
time shopping (hence the reason the Baron is hard up). Between them the
Stepmother and sisters drive everybody in the household insane.
Cinderella has been forced into a life of drudgery by her Stepmother who makes her work below stairs for the them all. Cinderella's muddled and confused father, Baron Hardup is powerless to intervene (in fact he’s more scared of his new wife and her daugters than Cinderella is!) and her only comfort is her friend Buttons, the Valet of Hardup Hall.
Meanwhile King Cuthbert's Ministers have decreed that his son, Crown Prince Rupert, must find a suitable bride and marry immediately, otherwise they will cut off his stipend.
The Prince has been given a list of possible candidates, but none of them matches his ideal - And despite the threat that the Ministers are holding over his head, the Prince is determined to settle only for the girl of his dreams.
Meantime, the Prime Minister and Ministers have sent out a decree to all the elidgible maidens in the kingdom to attend a Grand Ball at the palace so that the Prince can choose one of them for his wife.
On hearing about the Grand Ball, Buttons wants to tell Cinderella, but her cruel stepmother and ugly sisters refuse to allow him to. Needless to say, when the horrible trio leave for the Ball, escorted by Buttons, Cinderella is left behind all alone... But this is Pantomime, so all is not lost.... Enter her Fairy Godmother and with a flick of her magic wand Cinderella is transformed into the Belle Of The Ball. Add to this a sparkling carriage, dancing until the stroke of midnight, the loss of a glass slipper - and you have a story that can only end in Happy Ever After.
Filled with lots of groan-making Knock Knock jokes, silly songs and very funny characters, this is perfect entertainment for all the family.

Laughed myself hoarse at Nomads Panto! The kids in the
audience were hysterical and I
hear tell the Elvis suit was borrowed from an Action Man...
